Ruth C. Chatfield

July 29, 1933 – July 23, 2020

Cornwall-on-Hudson

Ruth C. Chatfield, a lifelong resident of Corn-wall-on-Hudson, entered into rest on Thursday, July 23. She was 86.

The daughter of the late John and Florence Becker, she was born on July 29, 1933 in Cornwall. Ruth was the secretary in the office at Cornwall-on-Hudson Ele-mentary School for 45 years. She was a longtime member of Storm King Engine Co. #2 Ladies Auxiliary. Ruth’s greatest joy was her grandchildren, whom she adored. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, and she will be deeply missed.

Survivors include: her husband, Alfred, at home; son Guy and his wife Donna of Cornwall-on-Hudson; son John and his wife Tina of Tennessee; daughter Pam Scheck and husband Gary of Florida; grandchildren Eric, Scott, Russell, Chris, Thomas and Jenna; several great-grandchildren; and sister Louise Barham of California.

She was predeceased by her son, Thomas Chatfield, and her sister Druscilla.

Due to the current health crisis, a Memorial Service for Ruth will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in Ruth’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

Lisa C. M. Karlson

July 27, 1929 – July 17, 2020

Cornwall

Lisa Charlotte Marie Karlson, of Cornwall, was called to her heavenly home on July 17, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 90 years old.

The daughter of the late Axel Erikson and Esther (Dahlgren) Erikson, Lisa, more commonly known as Charlotte, was born on July 27, 1929 in Stamford, Conn.

Charlotte was a retired school bus driver for the East Ramapo Central School District in Spring Valley. She was a devoted and loving mother to her children and Mormor/Farmor to her grandchildren. A very musically talented pianist, she used her piano and vocal skills for nearly seven decades, serving in every church in which she attended. She will be greatly missed by both family and friends.

Charlotte is survived by her daughters Dawn Larsen of Stanfordville, Yvonne Karlson of New Windsor, Lisa Karlson-Priore of Cornwall, and Sonja Briggs of New Windsor; her son Glen Karlson of Cornwall; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Charlotte was predeceased by her brother George Axel Erikson.

Visitation was held on July 26 at Quigley-Sullivan Funeral Home, Inc., Cornwall-on-Hudson. A memorial donation can be made to Samaritan’s Purse or flowers sent to Quigley-Sullivan Funeral Home, if preferred.
