Theatre on Main Street is thrilled to announce its upcoming production of God of Carnage, delivering a raucous evening of dark comedy in an immersive setting.

Excited to bring this to the stage, Theatre on Main Street is presenting the Tony Award-winning play by Yasmina Reza and translated by Christopher Hampton.  This comedic look at parenting and marriage in modern society delves into the complexities of human nature with its witty and sardonic humor.

Set in a Brooklyn apartment, the play follows two sets of parents who meet to discuss a playground altercation between their sons. What is intended to be a civilized conversation quickly descends into insults and assaults, and the unraveling of the raw emotions and hidden tensions lurking beneath the surface of these seemingly well to do parents.

The cast includes Michael E. Boyle Jr., as Alan Raleigh, Benjamin Hudson as Michael Novak, Jessica Jaber as Annette Raleigh and Sara J. Rahill as Veronica Novak.  All actors are returning to the stage after sharing the stage together in Billy Elliot the Musical in November 2023.

Michael E. Boyle, Jr. and Jessica Jaber are appearing courtesy of Actor’s Equity Association. Montana Nogrady returns to commandeer the ship as stage manager, and Jim Simonson returns to engineer the atmosphere of sound and light.

Theatre on Main Street is committed to providing an immersive experience for theatergoers to the Hudson Valley, and God of Carnage is no exception.

Step into the living room of the Novaks and witness the demise of civilized discourse. Decide for yourself which child was truly at fault and which parent(s) are really here in earnest! Be prepared to laugh, be disgusted, and be immersed into the world of the Novaks and Raleighs.

Very limited “on stage” premium seating is available for patrons wishing to add to the fun, and include wine, dessert and snacks.

Performances will take place on Sunday, May 5 and 19 at 3 p.m.; Fridays, May 10 and 17 at 7 p.m.; and Saturdays; May 11 and 18 at 7 p.m. at the Black Box Theatre inside Your Dance Closet (45 Quaker Ave. Suite 100, Cornwall).

Tickets are available for purchase online at www.theatreonmainstreet.com,  by calling 845-237-7303, or in person at Your Dance Closet.
