David A. O’Keefe

March 16, 1943-January 25, 2016

David A. O’Keefe, of Cornwall-on-Hudson, formerly of Watertown, Mass., entered into eternal rest on Jan. 25.  He was 72 years old.

The son of the late Francis and Eleanor Collins O’Keefe, David was born on March 16, 1943.

He was a retired service manager for a printing press company in Rockland County, and in his retirement years enjoyed driving the Town of Newburgh Dial a Bus.

David honorably and proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army.  He was also an active member of St. Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Church.

David loved doting on his wife, Bernadette, throughout their 49 years of marriage.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, reading, and avidly rooting for the New England Patriots.

David leaves behind his wife, Bernadette C. O’Keefe at home, his sons; Michael P. O’Keefe of Glens Falls, N.Y., Mark O’Keefe of New Windsor, and Paul D. O’Keefe of Brooklyn; his daughters; Kathleen M. O’Keefe of Springfield, Mass. and Theresa E. O’Keefe of Beacon. David also leaves behind his three grandchildren; Julie Ann A., Samuel D. and Stephen B. O’Keefe.

The family received visitors from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 28 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, 337 Hudson St. in Cornwall-on-Hudson.  A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 29, 2016 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson. Cremation will follow at Cedar Hill Crematory, in Middle Hope.  Interment of cremains will take place at a later time at Taunton Catholic Cemeteries, Taunton, Mass.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for memorial donations in the form of monetary contributions or volunteer time at the Newburgh Ministry, NewburghMinistry.org.
