The high school gymnasium will officially become the Glen McGinnis Gym on Dec. 28. The Athletic Department will host a ceremony that will include three speakers, a trumpet solo, and the unveiling of a banner with the coach’s name. The school will add a plaque to the gym at a later date.
The ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m. between the first and second games of the holiday basketball tournament. Admission to the games will be free, but spectators will have a chance to donate money to a charity designated by the McGinnis family.
Mr. McGinnis (1934-2015) coached Cornwall athletes for more than 50 years.
