Village holds emergency meeting

The Cornwall-on-Hudson Board of Trustees held an emergency meeting at 2:30 this afternoon. The first item on the abbreviated agenda was to accept the resignation, effective immediately, of Department of Public Works employee Jim Horne. A disciplinary hearing was held at 11 a.m., but Horne had tendered his resignation before the results of the hearing were revealed. Both Horne and the village were represented by counsel during the hearing. The matter, details of which could not be divulged, had been the subject of previous executive session meetings. Horne had worked for the village for seven years.

The second item was to approve the new date NBC-Universal will be filming in the village. A small crew will now appear on Wednesday, May 28. The permit cost was cut in half to $500.
