Storm King Engine Company responded to a house fire on the Boulevard in Cornwall-on-Hudson just before noon. Mutual aid calls went out to the City of Newburgh Fire Department and Cornwall Fire Department. Cornwall Police Chief Todd Hazard said the fire started at the rear of the house, but the cause is unknown. A mother and child were home at the time, but Hazard didn’t know if they were inside the house at the time. No injuries were reported. Cornwall Volunteer Ambulance Corps, New Windsor Paramedics, Cornwall Police Department and Cornwall-on-Hudson Police Department also responded to the scene.

Sup’t reports non-specific school threats
On Thursday, Dec. 9, Superintendent Terry Dade sent the following message to school families in Cornwall. “We have received several emails and calls from parents regarding a disturbing post on various social media platforms. This post threatens violence in ‘the school’ but does not name a specific school or district.”
