One sign winter is officially upon us is ice forming on Rings Pond. The frozen water, spotted Dec. 26, wasn’t thick enough for a human to step on, but if temperatures continue to remain below freezing, it might not be too long before some skaters are spotted on the ice in lieu of seagulls.
