David Mendelson died on September 16, 2023 at the age of 84. David was the son of Dr. and Mrs. Milton Mendelson of Central Valley, NY where he was raised. He graduated from Monroe-Woodbury Central High School in 1957, Dartmouth College in 1961, and Tufts Medical School cum laude in 1965. His postgraduate training was done at Albert Einstein teaching hospitals where he was the Chief Medical Resident in 1971. He was board-certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. His selective service requirement was served at the National Institute of Health. He practiced medicine in Newburgh and Cornwall, NY and Wolfeboro, NH. After private practice, he was a staff Physician for the Veterans Administration.
He leaves his wife of 62 years, Sally Diane Lee: five daughters and their husbands: Julie (John), Jodi (Jay), Jennifer (Paul), Susan (Brad) and Andrea (Kevin); 10 grandchildren; and his dog: Buddy. His brother Paul and sister Sara Marie survive him.

Cremation and inurnment at St. Anastasia Cemetery, Harriman, NY will be private.
