Anthony Pirraglia, Jr.

April 5, 1943—August 10, 2023

Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY

Anthony Pirraglia, Jr., of Cornwall-on-Hudson entered into eternal rest on August 10, 2023 at NY Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital, Cortlandt Manor, NY. He was 80 years old.

The son of the late Anthony Pirraglia, Sr. and Theresa (Saporito) Pirraglia, Anthony was born on April 5, 1943 in Manhattan, NY.

Anthony was retired from the NYPD, 47th Precinct in the Bronx, NY.  He then spent the next twenty years as a successful businessman as the owner of Boston Road Radiator in the Bronx. Recently he enjoyed driving a school bus for special needs children at West Point Tours. There he met wonderful people and made great friends.

He was always working on his next project, whether it was building a cage for his grandkids pet lizard, renovating a basement office, or building an addition on the property.

Anthony honorably and proudly served his country as a member of the US Air Force from 1960 to 1963.

He was an active member of St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, Black Rock Fish and Game Club, The American Legion, and The Fraternal Order of Police.

Anthony was a dedicated husband, father, doting grandfather and friend.  He was incredibly generous and had the biggest heart as well as a larger-than-life personality. If you ever needed anything, he would be there at any time lending a helping hand or you’d be sure to receive something delivered to your door the next day. He enjoyed spending time with his family whether it was taking everyone out to eat or cooking everyone’s favorite dishes. Everyone who met him was better off for knowing him.

Anthony will be missed by his many friends, his community, and most importantly his loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife: Francine (Morando) Pirraglia at home; his daughter: Denise (Pirraglia) Gaynor and her husband Ed of Mohegan Lake, NY; and his son: Anthony Pirraglia III and his wife Lisa of Monroe, NY; 7 adoring grandchildren; Lauren, Anthony, Gina, Michael, Brooke, Julia, and Angela; his sister: Rose Forese and husband Joe; and his brother: Richard Pirraglia and wife Jean.
