Cornwall-on-Hudson NY

On Thursday, April 13th 2023, Kathleen Baker McDonald, passed away at age 89 in Newburgh, New York with her husband and son by her side.

Born April 27, 1933 in Clinton, Arkansas to Estelle Hamilton and Lester B. Baker, Kathleen earned a degree in education from the University of Central Arkansas. There she met Thomas B. McDonald, who would become her husband of 65 years. The couple married September 10, 1958 in Tunica, Mississippi before relocating to Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York. Kathleen taught the 5th grade at West Point and was an invaluable member of the faculty. She retired in 1988, when she became a full-time grandmother of five grandchildren.

Kathleen possessed the rare gift of knowing that goodness, kindness and beauty can be found in everyone. Those lucky enough to have been in her orbit experienced first-hand her kindness and ability to empathize. She loved art, flowers, gardening, animals, and nature, but at heart, children were her real passion. She nurtured and tended to the people in her family and community with a patient dedication that was unparalleled and will be sorely missed. Kathleen passed when the Hudson Valley was bursting with life and color—vibrant yellows, purples, and pinks—reminding us of her lifelong choice to see the world as a beautiful place.

Kathleen is survived by her husband Thomas B. McDonald, son Thomas B. McDonald Jr., her five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. A memorial luncheon will be held on Thursday, April 27th at 35 Meadow Avenue, Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York, 12520 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Gregory M. Pabst

October 7, 1963—April 5, 2023

Cornwall, NY

Greg passed away on April 5, 2023 after a long and hard-fought battle with Covid.

Greg was born on October 7, 1963 in Cornwall, NY, the fourth of five sons of George & Elaine Pabst.  He moved to NH with his family and graduated from Franklin High School in 1981.  While in school, he enjoyed playing football and competing in track and field.

After high school, he was able to complete the Boston Marathon and spent many years playing mud football with the Merrimack Mud Cats.  Greg loved watching his NY Yankees and Miami Dolphins and never passed up a chance to diss any Boston or New England sports fan.   He was a lover of all animals. Horses and dogs were his favorites.

Later in his life, Greg enjoyed working for Omark Consultants as a field supervisor.   He was lucky enough to find his soulmate in Jennifer Woolley.   Although their time together was cut short, their love for each other was not.  They enjoyed life and made the most of the time they had together going to concerts, weekend getaways and taking day trips around New England searching for new antique treasures and local breweries.   But most of all, Greg loved being at home with Jenn and their dogs, working on little projects or in the garden, tending his lawn and helping his neighbors with theirs.

He leaves behind his loving fiancée, Jennifer Woolley of Merrimack, NH, his son Joshua Pabst of New Hampton, NH and his granddaughter Hayleigh Pabst of Warren, NH.  He also leaves behind his brothers Randall & Karen Pabst, Thomas & Susan Pabst, David Pabst and Daniel Pabst, Cousin Lois Kerkawich and many nieces and nephews.

At Greg’s request, there will be no services.  Instead, he would like any donations to be made to Two Broke Girls Rescue. http://www.toobrokegirlsrescue.org/donate/
