Richard J. Bittles, Sr.

June 10, 1939—January 26, 2022

Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY

Richard J. Bittles, Sr., of Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY entered into eternal rest on January 26, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family.  He was 82 years old.

The son of the late Robert Bittles and Adrienne (Larmon) Bittles, Richard was born on June 10, 1939 in Norwalk, CT.  His family moved back to the Bronx, NY when Richard was a toddler.  

Rich graduated from St. Nicholas of Tolentine, honorably and proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Coast Guard, attended Hunter College and then went on to receive a BA from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.  His career spanned 30 years, across four decades in the FDNY.    He served in one of the busiest companies, Ladder 31, during the “War Years” in the 60’s and 70’s. He retired as a Lieutenant from Ladder 58 of the Bronx.

Outside of work, Rich loved to golf.  He organized many trips for the members of Storm King Golf Club of which he was a member.  He also loved to help coach and/or support his kid’s sports teams.  When grandkids came along, he supported all of them in their endeavors whether it be sports or dance and we believe not one game or recital was missed.  Mr. B could always be found at the local coffee shop with his crew & playing lotto.  He talked to everyone and anyone.  He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his son: Richard J. Bittles, Jr.; his brother: Robert; and his sister: Adrienne Burke.  He is survived by his loving wife: Suzanne M. (Fracasse) Bittles at home; his brother: Ronald Bittles and his wife Florence of Florida; his daughter: Jennifer A. (Bittles) Doyle and her husband Kevin of New Windsor, NY; his son: James A. Bittles and his wife Sylvia of Cedar Point, NC; his grandchildren: Robert, Richard, Courtney, James, Christopher, Amanda, Ryan and Brendan; and by his great grandchildren: Charlotte, Maddox and Francesca.

Memorial Visitation was held from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 11th at Quigley-Sullivan Funeral Home, Inc., 337 Hudson Street, Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY.  Due to the continued public health concerns of Covid-19, please know that facial coverings must be worn in the funeral home at all times.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 12th at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson Street, Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY.  Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Crematory, Middle Hope, NY.

Charles P. Obremski

September 11, 1946—February 14, 2022

Cornwall, NY

Charles P. Obremski was born on September 11, 1946 in Passaic, New Jersey to Charles J. and Anna (Tichansky) Obremski. He died on February 14, 2022 in Newburgh, New York. 

Charlie is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nancy (Howell); his sons: Gregory and Christian (Alexandra); his grandchildren: Anna, John, Elisabeth, and Maria; and by his sister Maryann. 

Charlie was a graduate of Boston University and New York University School of Law. He maintained a law practice in Cornwall, New York for nearly 50 years. He was a retired Army Major with the New Jersey National Guard and served as a Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson Auxiliary Police Officer. He was also Mayor of the Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson from 1977-1979.

Charlie was a patriot who loved the Constitution and the rights afforded therein. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and colleagues. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 18th from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Quigley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 337 Hudson Street, Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY.  Based on new CDC guidelines adopted by NYS, fully vaccinated individuals do not need to wear masks or be socially distanced, but unvaccinated individuals must continue to wear masks and be socially distanced in the funeral home.   

Burial will be private.

Michael A. Pacella

October 23, 1939—February 8, 2022

Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY

Michael A. Pacella of Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY entered into eternal rest on February 8, 2022 at his home. He was 82 years old.

The son of the late Michael Pacella and Gertrude (Maratta) Pacella, Michael was born on October 23, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY.

Mike was a retired Supervisor/Manager for Stryker Corp. in Mahwah, NJ. 

He had a very rewarding career. He was an expert in the investment casting/foundry business, spending his entire career working and managing in both the aerospace gas turbine business, and orthopedic device manufacturing fields where he dedicated his life to become successful in his field of expertise. Mike’s efforts were instrumental in every company he managed, helping them become highly successful, world-class companies, where he was highly regarded for his managerial and leadership skills. During his career, Mike was personally responsible for the hiring of many talented people from around the world, especially from places such as Haiti and the Dominican Republic. As a result, he was presented with an award for being instrumental for the betterment of the lives of families from the Dominican Republic who, because of Mike, were able to send their children to college etc.; and become proud American families. Mike was well respected by all his co-workers, whom he loved and treated like family. He was especially proud of the championship Industrial league softball teams that he played with and managed for over two decades. Upon retirement, Mike was an avid bowler and fisherman. He also enjoyed vacationing with his family at Long Beach Island, N.J., watching NFL and professional baseball games, and going to classic car shows. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Shirley J. (Champeau) Pacella at home; his daughters: Renee Pacella (George Walter), Michele (Pacella) and her husband Phil Koury, and Lynn (Pacella) Durgin; his sons: Marco Pacella, Frank M. Pacella and his wife Diane C.; his grandchildren: Angelina, Gabrielle, Christina, Madeline, Frank P., Troy, Lauren, Scottie, and Clay; his great grandchildren: Adelia, Dante, and Melina; and by his brother: Ralph Pacella (Geraldine), and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Michael was predeceased by his son: Michael T. Pacella, and siblings: Angie, Molly, Theresa, Lillian, Sonny, and Anthony.

Visitation was held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 12th at Quigley-Sullivan Funeral Home, Inc., 337 Hudson Street, Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. Dinah F. Terrizzi

September 15, 1964—February 12, 2022

Cornwall, NY

Dinah F. Terrizzi, of Cornwall, NY entered into eternal rest on February 12, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was 57 years old.

The daughter of the late Silvestre Balag Flores and Pilar Gutierrez Pintor, Dinah was born on September 15, 1964 in Lavezares, Northern Samar, Philippines. She attended the University of Eastern Philippines, where in 1985 she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry. In September 1989, Dinah immigrated to the United States. She lived in New York City until settling down in Cornwall, NY.

Dinah worked at Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital for 18 years and later with the New York City Transit Authority for over 5 years. 

She was an active member of the Newburgh Seventh Day Adventist church.

Dinah was a deeply caring individual who made everybody around her feel unconditionally loved. She possessed a warmth that put her family, friends, and co-workers at ease. Although oceans away, Dinah always found ways to support her family members in the Philippines. Any space that she entered was lit up by her beautiful smile, her joyful laughter, and her lighthearted disposition. Her passions included gardening, cooking, reading, and singing. Dinah was also a hard worker; she cared relentlessly for her patients as a nursing assistant, and she always strived to learn new skillsets. Eventually, Dinah ended up working as an MTA cleaner in the Bronx. She loved her job and the sense of community it gave her. 

She touched so many lives and will be missed tremendously.

Dinah is survived by her husband of 30 years: Martin A. Terrizzi at home; her daughter: Kim D. Terrizzi of Durham, NC; her sons: Dean M. Terrizzi and Shane D. Terrizzi of Cornwall, NY; and her siblings: Arthur Flores and Raquel Lariosa of Lavezares, Northern Samar, Philippines. They will always love Dinah and cherish their time spent with her for the rest of their lives. 

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 17th at Quigley-Sullivan Funeral Home, Inc., 337 Hudson Street, Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. Based on new CDC guidelines adopted by NYS, fully vaccinated individuals do not need to wear masks or be socially distanced, but unvaccinated individuals must continue to wear masks and be socially distanced in the funeral home. 

A Chapel Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 18th at the funeral home.  Interment will follow the Service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Mountainville, NY.
