Last month, Dean Golemis contacted the Cornwall-on-Hudson Police Chief after reading that the department had applied for and received a $1,775 grant through PERMA (Public Employee Risk Management Association Inc.) that would cover half the cost of five Point Blank Bullet Proof Vests and Bullet Vest Outer Carriers.
Mr. Golemis, the owner of Global Security and Investigative Services (284 Main Street, Cornwall) offered to pay the balance not covered by PERMA.
He advised Chief Steve Dixon that it was imperative that his officers have this new safety equipment immediately. “This is my way of giving back to the community,” Mr. Golemis said.
The chief was extremely pleased. “This was tremendously thoughtful of Mr. Golemis,” he said. “The Cornwall-on-Hudson Police Department is a very small police agency. It means a great deal to my officers and me that we received such a generous donation.”
