Town declares state of emergency

On Thursday, March 19, 2020, as Town Supervisor of the Town of Cornwall I have declared a State of Emergency within the unincorporated area of the Town of Cornwall due to the existing Pandemic Corona Virus (COVID-19) which has produced a public health emergency.  The primary purpose of the declaration at this time is to provide the Town with additional operational authority to conduct town business and keep services going.  This is not to heighten your concerns.  We continue to work closely with Orange County Emergency Management.

The Town Hall is now closed to the public.  Staff in Town Hall will be working from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.  We are requesting that anyone having business with Town Hall please call or e-mail.

Telephone numbers and email addresses are on the Town of Cornwall website at cornwallny.com. The Town of Cornwall Office of Emergency Management will continue to provide contacts and pertinent information for Orange County Government Emergency Services and New York State on their website: ready.cornwallny.gov

The Town Board will meet at 4:30 p.m. today.
