Andy and Jeanne Maroney
From Our Collection
Cornwall Historical Society

Andy and Jeannie Maroney were founding members of the Cornwall Historical Society.

Andy was born in Cornwall in 1921. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1942 and was discharged in 1946. During World War II he received the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. His name appears on the World War II Honor Roll located in the Society’s museum at Town Hall.

After Andy’s death in 2014, his wife Jeannie donated some of Andy’s treasures to the Cornwall Historical Society. They include his naval uniform and his toy trucks. These he played with as a boy, growing up in Cornwall-on-Hudson.

One of the best photos the Society has of Andy is with Bill Fulton, another founding member, on Memorial Day at the Soldiers and Sailors Monument. This photo exemplifies Andy’s devotion to both his country and to Cornwall.
