It might be strange to see people dressed up as Santa Claus, Frosty the Snowman, or an elf, especially late at night or in the wee hours of the morning, but that’s how a group of about 65 adults participated in this year’s SantaCon.
There was no one in the front part of Colin Schmitt’s headquarters when I visited on Dec. 19. The assemblyman was with a staff member in a different part of his office.
“I still love it,” Greg Schmalz told the audience at the school board meeting. “It will be hard to step away. But I do it with a lot of great memories.”
A light mist fell Saturday, but the mood was positive. About 40 volunteers gathered in St. Thomas Cemetery in Cornwall to lay wreaths at the graves of those who served our country in the armed forces.
