Manfred G. Haupt

October 21, 1933 – July 23, 2019

Fort Worth, Texas

Manfred G. Haupt passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2019 in North Richland Hills, Texas. He was 85 years old.

Son of the late Fredrich and Martha Runge Haupt, he was born October 21, 1933 in Germany.

Manfred was a baker for the Kraft Foods Corporation, as well as the owner of the Carvel ice cream stand in Fort Montgomery.

Survivors include his son Carsten Haupt and his daughter Christine Garber of Fort Worth, Texas; his sister Erika Haupt of France;, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service took place at Eagle Valley Cemetery in the Town of Highland Falls on Tuesday July 30.

Nancy Jacobson Rikert

March 16, 1932-July 11, 2019

North Carolina

Nancy Jacobson Rikert, of Greensboro, N.C. and a long-time resident of Cornwall-on-Hudson, passed away on July 11. Daughter of the late Allan and Signe (nee Granberg) Jacobson. She was 87 years old.

Nancy was born March 16, 1932 in Worcester, Mass.. Fond memories of her childhood in Brookfield, Mass. included sailing to Sweden in 1948 on the “Gripsholm” to visit relatives. She was a member of the Masonic Youth Service Organization, The Rainbow Girls. Nancy graduated from Brookfield High School in 1950. She attended the University of Massachusetts where she was an active member of Sigma Kappa sorority, serving as president in 1954. She graduated with a degree in Sociology. Following several years as a senior caseworker of the Orange County Dept. of Social Services, Nancy became the certified New York State Attendance Teacher for the Washingtonville School District, and subsequently, for the Beacon City School District, retiring in 1992. She was a Deacon of the Union Presbyterian Church in Newburgh.

Nancy is survived by daughter, Susan Rikert of Greensboro, NC; son, David Rikert of Bozeman, Mont.; former husband Paul Rikert; granddaughter, Sarah Ann Rikert of Centennial, Col.; and many cousins in Sweden. She was predeceased by her companion of 17 years, Harry Levine.

A memorial service will be held on Sept. 24 at 10:30 a.m. at Union Presbyterian Church in Newburgh. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Union Presbyterian Church, 44 Balmville Rd., Newburgh, NY 12550 or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Interment of ashes will be at Brookfield Cemetery in the family plot.

Patricia Ruzsbatzky

December 29, 1938 – July 27, 2019

Highland Falls

Patricia Turko Ruzsbatzky passed away peacefully with her loving family surrounding her at NY Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital on July 27. She was 80 years old.

Patricia was born on Dec. 29, 1938 in Yonkers and was the daughter of the late John Turko and Eva Kanisczak. Pat worked as an administrative assistant at Garrison Union Free School for 25 years. She found tremendous satisfaction caring for the many children and families that passed through her office. Her joy was her family and the many friends whom she considered family. She was always there to lend an ear and offer insightful guidance and support whenever needed. She enjoyed skiing, cooking, family camping trips, and traveling with friends, but her greatest passion was providing and caring for her family.

Pat was predeceased by her husband Edward Ruzsbatzky and her sister, Sophie Turko.

She is survived by her daughter Christine Crill and her husband Kevin, of Highland Falls; son John Ruzsbatzky and Betsey of Simsbury, Conn.; granddaughters Casey, Lindsey, Alex and Cami; grandsons Kevin and Jake; nephew Ted Turko, his wife Michelle and their family; as well as many other relatives and dear friends.

A Funeral Mass was held at Sacred Heart Church in Highland Falls on Wednesday July 31. Interment took place at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Putnam Valley.
