A statewide initiative to replace natural gas lines nearing the end of their useful life continues in Cornwall and Cornwall-on-Hudson. Precision Pipeline Solutions, contractor for Central Hudson, has already started work on Maple Street. Over the next three months, other town roads being targeted include: Jaeger Drive, Canterbury Avenue (east of Rt. 9W), Rose Hill Park, Poplar Street, School Alley, Walnut Street, Oak Street, Quaker Avenue (between Elm and Broadway), Chadeayne Circle, Broadway (between the circle and Willow Avenue), and Douglas Drive. Set to begin in early May in the village, gas line replacement will take place on Hudson Street (between Maple and River), Payson Road (between Hudson and Boulevard), Dennis Place, Taylor Place (between Lafayette and Washington), Washington Street (between Taylor and Elpis), River Street (between Hudson and Hedges), Cornwall Avenue (east of River), Hudson Avenue (between Grandview and Cornwall), and Grandview Avenue.
