Adriana D’Addio

January 18, 1936 – February 14, 2019

New Windsor

Adriana D’Addio passed away Thursday, Feb. 14 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh. She was 83 years old.

Daughter of the late Salvatore and Josephine Palermo Capizzano, she was born Jan. 18, 1936 in Calabria, Italy. She was the widow of Pasquale D’Addio.

Survivors include her loving sons, John D’Addio of New Windsor, Salvatore D’Addio and wife Jo-Ann of Newburgh, Joseph D’Addio and wife Kristin of Highland Falls; sisters Anna Barone of Queens and Lucia Palermo of Garden Grove, Calif.; and two granddaughters, Caroline and Talia.

Adriana was predeceased by her son Vincenzo D’Addio and her brothers Salvatore and Luigi Capizzano.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, Feb. 19 at Sacred Heart Church, 353 Main Street, Highland Falls. Interment followed in Eagle Valley Cemetery in the Town of Highlands.

Donald M. Davet

May 26, 1967-February 9, 2019

Cornwall-on-Hudson

Donald M. Davet, of Cornwall-on-Hudson, entered into eternal rest on Feb. 9 surrounded by his family at his home. He was 51 years old.

The son of George K. Davet and Natalie P. (D’Amore) Davet, Donald was born on May 26, 1967 in Euclid, Ohio.

He earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree from The Ohio State University. He was employed as a marketing manager with the North America Division of Nestle Waters.

He was an active member of the Cornwall community, coaching his daughter’s CYO basketball team and supporting his children in their academic and athletic endeavors. Don was a Peace Corps volunteer in Paraguay for three years, and lived in South America with his wife. He was a giving man who thought about others before himself. He taught his daughters the values of hard work, respect and integrity. He will be missed greatly.
In addition to his parents, left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Adrienne (Busch) Davet at home; his daughters: Olivia Davet and Eva Davet; and his brother: George Davet of University Heights, Ohio.

Memorial visitation was held. on Wednesday, Feb.13 at Quigley-Sullivan Funeral Home, Inc. in Cornwall-on-Hudson. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Feb. 14 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church in Cornwall-on-Hudson. Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.

Shawn I. Falk

September 28, 1979 – February 15, 2019

Highland Falls

Shawn I. Falk, son, brother, uncle and cousin, left us unexpectedly on Feb. 15 at 39 years old.

Born in Durham, N.C., Shawn was an avid fan of the Carolina Tarheels with a lifelong love of basketball, baseball and the Yankees. The oldest son of Martha Sporbert Byrnes and the late Carl Falk, Shawn grew up in Highland Falls, and spent much of his adult life in Arizona until returning to New York a few years ago. Shawn was a receiving foreman with Fleurchem of Middletown.

Shawn was not only an older brother to his many siblings, but a mentor for many of his young cousins. Never to be found without headphones, Shawn’s appreciation for music was only surpassed by his love for his family. He will be most remembered for his dedication to family and friends, and will forever remain a beloved uncle to his nieces and nephews: Isabella, Sofia, Aaron Jr., John, Addison, Niall and Niamh.

Survivors include his companion Sarah Zupetz of Bloomingburg; mother “Marty” Byrnes and stepfather Chris Byrnes of Highland Falls; brothers Ryan Falk (Jill) of Highland Falls, Aaron Falk (Stacy) of Fort Montgomery, Timothy Falk of Highland Falls and Trevor Rhodes of Highland Falls; sisters Christin Byrnes of Fort Montgomery and Tara McLaughlin (Matthew) of Milford, Penn.; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Edward and Grace Sporbert and Thomas and Marjorie Falk.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 21 at William F. Hogan Funeral Home, 135 Main St., Highland Falls. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 22 at Sacred Heart Church, Highland Falls. Cremation will be at Cedar Hill Crematory.
