Boil water advisory lifted

On Monday, Jan. 14, our water system issued a Boil Water advisory in the Village of Cornwall-on-Hudson for the following area: Boulevard from #25  (Hudson Highlands Nature Museum) to Mountain Road, Washington Street for its entirety, Mountain Road from #24  to #77,  and Lipani Lane for its entirety due to a loss of water pressure caused by a water main break.

The water main break was repaired and water service restored to the affected area during the evening of  Jan. 14. Since then, our employees have obtained multiple water samples from the affected area which have been tested by an independent third party laboratory. The analyses of these samples have confirmed there is no contamination of the water. Therefore, the Boil Water Advisory has been rescinded.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact my office at (845) 534-4200 Ext. 318 or the Orange County Health Department at (845) 291-2331.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Sincerely,

Michael P. Trainor, Sr.

Water Superintendent
