Fully engulfed

Shortly after 1 p.m., Nicole Johnson, 28 of Croton, was traveling northbound on Route 9W, in her father’s 2011 Hyundai Sonata, when she noticed smoke coming from under the hood.

The residence at 231 Main Street was demolished on March 14 after it was damaged in a fire.

“We never knew that,” some firefighters admitted after hearing the opening remarks at the Highland Engine Company dinner. The event was held at the fire house on March 14.
