Highland Falls

Ronald R. Hess of Highland Falls, passed away at home on Friday, June 8, 2018. He was 56.

Son of the late Richard Hess and Nancy Roosa Hess, he was born in Cornwall, on May 31, 1962.

Ron was a beverage manager at the Tuxedo Club in Tuxedo Park. He is survived by his sons, Ronald Hess and Matthew Hess of Raleigh, N.C.; his brothers, Rick Hess & Randy Hess of Albuquerque, N.M.; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Crematory. Memorial visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19 at William F. Hogan Funeral Home, 135 Main St., Highland Falls. Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.

Andrew M. Korner, Jr.

June 5, 2018

Highland Falls

Andrew M. Korner, Jr. passed away Tuesday, June 5 at The Willow’s at Ramapo Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Suffern.  He was 85 years old.

Andrew was a retired Electrician with IBEW Local #3 out of New York City and most proud of his work in and on the Empire State Building, NYC Subway and the Verrazano Bridge.  He was a former member of St. Patrick’s Church, and American Legion Post #1097 of Armonk.

There will be no visitation.  A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, June 13 at Sacred Heart Church, 346 Main Street, Highland Falls.  Interment will follow in Eagle Valley Cemetery in the Town of Highlands.

Sidney Rosner

formerly of Highland Falls

Sidney Rosner, 87, of Morristown and formerly of Rockaway, NJ and Highland Falls, died on May 25.

Mr Rosner, an Army veteran and MBA in finance recipient, was an avid fan of ice hockey, baseball and golf. He was retired as an NCAA ice hockey referee. In his earlier career, he was the village treasurer for Highland Falls, and later on, worked as a salesman for FYI Solutions of Parsippany selling I.T. consulting services. He was also a member of Temple B’nai Or of Morristown.

Pre-deceased by his wife, of 60 years, Violet, and grandson Eric Zaziski, he leaves son Alan (Clara); daughters Mindy Rosner Zaziski and  Tammy Rosner (Richard Ram); grandchildren Hannah and Sophie Rosner, Mark & Brett Zaziski and Aaron, Jessica, Ariel & Jamie Ram; great-grandchild Hannah Violet Jennis; as well as his sister Ruth Rosner Kornhauser.
