Paul Casaccio

June 9, 1929-May 2, 2017

Cornwall

Paul Casaccio, age 87, passed away peacefully at home on May 2.  He was born in Brooklyn on June 9, 1929.  He most recently resided in Cornwall with his beloved wife “Ginny.”

The son of Nicholas and Theresa Casaccio, Paul had three sisters; Tony, Mary and his last living sister and partner in crime at the casinos and good luck charm, Angie.

Paul served in the Army during World War II and resided in The Presidio as the company baker.  He met the love of his life, Virginia Rosselli at St. Bridget’s Church in Brooklyn at the “21 and over” dance.  She was working the coat check and he asked her to dance.  She said “no” the first time, but he came back and that time, she said “yes.”  The rest is history.  Paul had two daughters; Linda and Donna.  He started and ran Newburgh Window Shop in 1959 and had many happy customers.

Paul always had a smile on his face and a very loving nature.  He had many, many dear friends and family.  He enjoyed his years in Florida, playing cards and enjoying life with his family.

Surviving is his wife, Virginia Casaccio; sister, Angelina Caldarise; children, Linda Koch and Donna Racanelli; grandchildren, Allison (Michael) O’Sullivan, Louis (Kimberly) Racanelli and Lauren Racanelli; four great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Natalie and Timothy O’Sullivan of Sandy Hook, Conn. and Rylee Racanelli of Newburgh.

Visitation was held on May 5 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home in Cornwall-on-Hudson. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on May 5 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church in Cornwall-On-Hudson. Interment with Military Honors followed the Mass at Calvary Cemetery, Newburgh.

Stephen V. Crowley

May 28, 1950 – May 3, 2017

Highland Falls

Stephen V. Crowley passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh.  He was 66.

Son of the late James Alfred Crowley, Jr. and the late Elizabeth Piper Crowley, Stephen was born May 28, 1950 in Berlin, Germany.  After a long, distinguished career in the field, he recently retired from WDF, Inc., Mount Vernon, as senior estimator. Stephen was also an avid saltwater fisherman, a member of the Sport Car Club of America, Mohawk-Hudson Region Chapter, and the Black Rock Fish & Game Club of Mountainville.

Survivors include his companion Fran Camporeale, her children, Frank, Lisa, Cheryl and their children Christopher, Daniel, Andrew and Matthew.  He is also survived by brothers William Crowley of Basking Ridge, NJ and Andrew Crowley of Wolfboro, NH; sisters: Susan Coven of Morristown, NJ, and Jane Kelley of Wolfboro, NH and their children Michael, Kate, David, Brian; and his much loved pet, Julie.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated at on Tuesday, May 9 at Sacred Heart Church in Highland Falls.  Interment followed in Eagle Valley Cemetery, Highland Falls.

Memorial donations may be made to the Animal Shelter of one’s own choice.

Albert John Mitchell, Jr.

March 6, 1929-May 5, 2017

Cornwall

Albert John Mitchell, Jr., “Mitch,” of Cornwall, passed away peacefully at home on May 5.   He was 88 years old.

The son of the late Albert John Mitchell, Sr. and Gladys May Prokosch, he was born in Newburgh on March 6, 1929.  He was married to Barbara E. Turner Mitchell.

Mitch attended Newburgh Free Academy and was retired after working as a repairman at Quedo & Bob’s Auto Body of Newburgh.

In addition to his loving wife, Barbara, Mitch is survived by his daughter, Dawn Marie Darling; a son, Albert John Mitchell, III; grandchildren, George Chila, Jacklyn Marie Mitchell, Albert John Mitchel, IV and Monique Ann Darling; many cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, friends and neighbors.  He is also survived by his loyal dog, Gucci and cat, Precious.  Mitch was predeceased by his daughters, Francis Lee Chila and Frances Lynn Mitchell.

A Memorial Service was held on May 10 at Cornwall United Methodist Church.

Lawrence Robinson

July 22, 1948-May 3, 2017

Cornwall

Lawrence Robinson, of Cornwall entered into rest on Wednesday, May 3. He was 68.

The son of the late Lawrence and Irene Robinson, he was born July 22, 1948 in Flushing, N.Y.

He is survived by his children: Lisa P. Robinson and Lawrence Robinson; grandchildren: Brianna, Lauren, Little Larry, Maryann, Charlie and Robbie; sister Bobbie Fuchs and her husband Bob; and nieces and nephews: Russell, Kristen, Robert, and Kathryn. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Keith Robinson.

Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, May 13, from 4-7 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Ct., Newburgh, NY 12550.
