Ribbon cutting for Taylor Road Bridge

The orange detour signs are still in place on Route 32 and Orrs Mills Road, but the Taylor Road Bridge is officially open. County Executive Steve Neuhaus attended the ceremony at 11 a.m., and let Kevin Hines (Cornwall’s County Legislator) wield the scissors.

The bridge took five-and-a-half months to rebuild. The County DPW changed the angle of the bridge and increased its elevation. Eighty percent of the money for the project came from the Federal government. The county chipped in 12 percent and the state 8 percent. There was no direct cost to Cornwall taxpayers.
