An 18-wheeler tied up traffic on the Thruway this morning after crashing into the median guardrail. Tire tracks seem to indicate the truck went up the grassy slope, came down, crashed into the guardrail on the right side of the road, crossed over two lanes, into the median. No other vehicles were struck and the driver appeared to be uninjured. He was taken to the hospital by Cornwall Volunteer Ambulance Corps. To remove the truck, Quality unhooked the trailer from the cab. Cornwall Fire Department responded and used an absorbing material to soak up oil which had leaked onto the roadway.
