Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation is alerting customers to a recent telephone scam. The call appears to come from the utility and the speaker indicates that the person’s account is past due.
The phone number, however (800-933-6197), is not one used by Central Hudson nor the utility’s approved partners. “While we may call our customers from time to time, calls from this particular phone number, 800-933-6197, are not authorized by Central Hudson,” President James P. Laurito said.
