Diane Demskie

June 15, 1960-February 15, 2016

Diane Demskie, 55, of the Town of New Windsor, passed away on Feb. 15 after a long illness.

Diane was born in Newburgh on June 15, 1960 and raised in Cornwall by her aunt and uncle Ralph and Catherine Brown.  Diane was predeceased by her parents George and Virginia Barb Demskie, a son Andrew, and sister Virginia Demskie.

She is survived by a lifelong friend Edward Hall of New Windsor, sister Karen Jones of West Virginia and nieces Jennifer Cruz of Newburgh and Catherine Malloy of State College, Penn.; and great nieces Lily and Alyssa Malloy of Pennsylvania. In keeping with Diane’s wishes, there will be no services.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Hudson Valley Funeral Home, Inc. of New Windsor.

Mary Jane (“Chickie’) Hahn

June 25, 1939-February 17, 2016

Mary Jane Hahn, lifelong resident of Cornwall-on-Hudson, entered into eternal rest on Feb. 17 with her loving family at her side. She was 76.

The daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Gogarty Board, she was born on June 25, 1939 in Cornwall.

Mary Jane attended and graduated from Cornwall Central High School, class of 1957. Affectionately know as “Chickie,” she loved cooking, baking, interior decorating, shopping, her girlfriends, her “Louie,” bed buddies, her Bose, tickles and most of all her beloved children.

She is survived by her loving, childhood sweetheart and devoted husband of 56 years, Charles R. “Rudy” Hahn; her children, Amy B. Hahn of Wappingers Falls,  SusanBeth Olsen and husband Scott of Niskayuna,  Joel T. Hahn of Cornwall, Kurt W. Hahn and wife Laura of Cornwall-on-Hudson, and Britta H. Hahn and boyfriend Jed Seltzer of Cornwall-on-Hudson; four grandchildren, Hans and Anders Olsen, Devin and Michelina Jane Hahn; and two nephews Michael and Timothy Board.  In addition to her parents, Mary Jane was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Board.

Although mom battled an extended illness, she faced these challenges with great dignity, courage and strength.

Her family received visitors. on Friday, Feb. 19 at Quigley Bros Funeral Home, in Cornwall-on-Hudson. A mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, Feb. 20 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church in Cornwall-on-Hudson with Father Rees Doughty officiating.  Burial followed the mass at St. Thomas Cemetery in Cornwall.

Contributions can be made in Mary Jane’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
