Albert Longinott

May 9, 1930-December 29, 2015

Albert Longinott, age 85, life-long resident of Cornwall entered into eternal rest on Dec. 29, surrounded by his family.  “Al” was born on May 9, 1930 at home in Cornwall-on-Hudson.

Al met his love, “Betty” Goodman in 1953 and they were married in May 1955.  Betty and Al celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at a party given by their children last May.  Cornwall was always home to Al and Betty and their children Karen, David, Michael and Joel.

Al proudly served in the United States Army, stationed in Cape Cod and Niagara Falls.

He left an indelible mark on many hearts but also across the landscape of Orange County.  Owner, and then partners with his sons, of Longinott Construction, Al built many buildings, homes and barns in the area.  His legacy is the work ethic and carpentry skills he taught his children and grandchildren.

Al is survived by his wife Elizabeth of Cornwall; daughter Karen Schoen of Otisville; son David and wife Christina of New Windsor; son Joel and wife Laura of Wallkill: and his sisters Jane Deans of Cornwall and Joanne Armstrong of Niagara Falls.  He was predeceased by his son Michael.

Al was blessed with eight grandchildren, Kimberly, Steven, Christopher, McKenna, Andrea, Jason, Evan and Jessie and five great-grandchildren, Brianna, Alexis, Krystal, Joscelynn and Kylie.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday Jan. 3 at James F. Lulves Funeral Home, 9 Avenue A, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m on Monday, Jan. 4 at Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh.  Interment will be private at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or the Cornwall Food Bank.

Kazuko MacMillan

December 14, 1924-December 25, 2015

Kazuko MacMillan, of New Windsor entered into eternal rest on Dec. 25 after a short illness. She was 91 years old.

Born on Dec. 14, 1924 in Osaka, Japan, Kazuko was the youngest of seven children.  Her four brothers and two sisters have all predeceased her.

Kazuko was a war bride who settled in Highland Falls, where she lived for over fifty years.  She was a dedicated employee at the United States Military Academy at West Point holding various jobs.  She retired in 2002 from the Nutrition Care Division at Keller Army Community Hospital where she worked for almost 20 years.

Kazuko was a strong and independent woman who lived most of her life alone.  She was a feisty character and not afraid to tell you exactly what she thought.  She was a hard worker dedicated to her job.  But most important, Kazuko was a loyal friend. She had made many new friends since moving to the New Windsor Country Inn but also had maintained close ties with one dear friend she had met at West Point seventy years ago.  She will be greatly missed by all.

There will be no visitation.  Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, Inc.

Thomas W. McCormack

May 20, 1957-December 21, 2015

Thomas W. McCormack, of Cornwall, unexpectedly entered into eternal rest on Dec. 21 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Cornwall. He was 58 years old.

The son of the late Kevin McCormack and Dorothy Lamphiere McCormack, Thomas was born on May 20, 1957 in the Bronx,.

Thomas was a Telecommunications Technician for Verizon and retired on Dec. 18, 2015, after 36 years of service.

Tom was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary 20-02 where he was a Boat Safety Class Instructor.  He was a dedicated soccer coach, who served when his daughters were young.  And from the stories he told, those were some of his fondest memories.  His wife, kids, grandkids and dogs were his recent loves.  And the Buffalo Bills, where he enjoyed fall Sundays with his wife and friends rooting for their team.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Jeri A. Clydesdale McCormack, at home; his grandson, Lane Clydesdale, at home; his daughters, Jennifer Miller (Chris), Amanda Fisher (Neal) both of Gatesville, TX, and Lillian Amand of Lehigh Acres, FL.; grandchildren, Caymbri, Slayton, Blayze and Brodie Fisher, Jason and Janelle Amand; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

His family received visitors. on Tuesday, Dec. 29 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home in Cornwall-on-Hudson. A  funeral service was held. on Wednesday, Dec. 30 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monroe with Rev. Donald W. Lee officiating. Cremation followed the Service at Cedar Hill Crematory, Middle Hope, N.Y.
