Four hundred trees shipped to troops

Since 2009, Bob Nannini has used his property on Angola Road as a drop-off point for Christmas trees going to troops on active duty.

Donations this year established a new record for generosity. There were more than 400 trees to load on the Fed Ex trucks that will deliver them to a base in Mississippi.

Volunteers from the 105th Airlift Wing loaded the trucks with help from a group of fourth-graders from Lee Road School. The kids wrote letters to service families, collected money for trees, and formed teams to help with the heavy lifting.
