Josephine “Jeanie” Boselli

June 3, 1940-October 19, 2015

Josephine Boselli of Cornwall-on-Hudson entered into eternal rest on Oct. 19 at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. She was 75 years old.

The daughter of the late Joseph Bianchetti and Idres Bianchetto, she was born on June 3, 1940 in Lessona, Italy.

Josephine was retired after working as a Legal Secretary for Silver, Forrester, Schisano & Lesser, P.C. in New Windsor.

“Jeanie was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother,” her family said. “She loved spending time with her family and friends.  She enjoyed cooking, playing cards, solving crossword puzzles and going to the beach.  She was a familiar face around town on her daily walks.  She and her husband of 55 years also enjoyed spending each winter at their second home in Florida.”

Josephine is survived by her husband Louis, at home; her son John and his wife Diane of Highland Mills, and her daughter Lisa and her husband Rick Loscalzo of Tampa, Fla. She is also survived by her grandchildren Nicole and Steven Boselli and Armand and Annabella Loscalzo. Josephine was predeceased by her brother, George Bianchetti and his wife Annette.

Her family received visitors on Oct. 22 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home in Cornwall-on-Hudson.  A funeral service was held on Oct. 23, at the funeral home, with Fr. Simon of St. Thomas of Canterbury Church officiating. Following the service, burial took place at Woodlawn Cemetery in New Windsor.

Dorothy Carnright

December 15, 1924-October 24, 2015

Dorothy Carnright of Cornwall-on-Hudson entered into eternal rest on Oct. 24 at Elant in Fishkill. She was 90 years old.

The daughter of the late George and Grace Porter of Holbrook Mass. Dorothy was born Dec. 15, 1924.

She was a homemaker and longtime housekeeping aide at Cornwall Hospital, receiving its Pillar of Excellence Award in 1994. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Dorothy was pre-deceased by her husband Palmer Carnright, brother George Porter and sisters Kathryn Porter and Marjorie Dougherty, and niece Elaine Chamberlain.

She is survived by her children: Jim Carnright and his wife Polly of Palm Bay, Fla. and their children Christine Stevens and her husband Richard, Michael and his wife Barbara, Jeffrey and his daughter Allison and granddaughter Emma; Jane Manhardt and her husband Michael of Cornwall-on-Hudson and their son Karl; John Carnright and his wife Judy of Cornwall and their daughters Stephanie Carnright and Amy DeRosa and son-in-law Anthony; David Carnright and his wife Louise of Cornwall-on-Hudson and their children Tara, Lauren, Andrew, and Eric; Deborah Kucera and her husband Robert of Port Dickenson, N.Y. and their daughters Angela and Jana; Kathleen Kirshner and her husband Robert of Cornwall-on-Hudson and their sons Kenneth and Robert and daughter-in-law Suzanne. She is also survived by her niece Donna Lee Porter of Cary, N.C.

Her family received visitors  on Oct. 27 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home in Cornwall-on-Hudson. The funeral service was private.

Deolinda Esperanco

September 21, 1919-October 20, 2015

Deolinda Esperanco, of Cornwall entered into eternal rest on Oct. 20 at her home. She was 96.

Deolinda was born on Sept. 21, 1919 in Cumberland, R.I. and moved to Portugal at age 3. In 1950, she returned to the U.S. with her husband, the late Antonio Guerra and their son, Adelino. Her citizenship helped bring many family members from Portugal to America.

Deolinda worked as a seamstress and later worked for St. John’s Riverside Hospital in Yonkers as a food server. She then retired and moved to Cornwall with her second husband, the late Manuel Esperanco.

She was an active member of the Golden Age Club in Cornwall where she was known for supplying “lots of cookies” to her friends.

Deolinda is survived by her son, Adelino Guerra, whom she lived with,; her grandchildren Dean and Jackie Guerra of Harriman, N.Y.; Debbie and Jimmy Tarabocchia of Hillsdale, N.J.; Lisa Donne of River Vale, N.J.; and her pride and joy, her eight great-grandchildren Tara, Drew, and Danielle Guerra, Justine and Tyler Tarabocchia, and Michael, Hailee and Hunter Donne. She is also survived by her siblings Manuel and Edite Santos of Portugal; Fernando & Irene Santos of NC; Acacio & Amelia Santos of Tuxedo, NY; and Esmeraldina Gallo and the late Dr. Joseph Gallo of NC, as well as many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Deolinda’s passion was cooking and baking for all her friends, family and neighbors. No one could walk into her house without hearing “Did you eat?” She will be greatly missed.

Visitation was on Oct. 23, at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home in Cornwall-on-Hudson.  A funeral service was held on Oct. 24 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, and was followed by burial at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Newburgh.

Kenneth Farrell

January 25, 1940-October 22, 2015

Kenneth  Farrell of Mountainville, NY entered into eternal rest on Oct. 22 at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence.  He was nearly 76 years of age.

The son of William and Margaret Farrell, Kenneth was born on Jan. 25, 1940 in Jackson Heights, N.Y.  He is the brother of William, Kevin, and Mary.

Kenneth attended Blessed Sacrament in Jamaica, Queens.  He was an electrical worker for Consolidated Edison for more than 40 years.

Kenneth honorably served his country as a member of the U.S. Army in Vietnam from 1963 to 1965.  He was an active member of the Mountainville Engine Company # 3.

His children would like you to know that he was a fiercely independent and private person. He enjoyed reading and discussing the politics of the day.  I think he would like everyone to broaden their horizons, keep your eyes and ears open for the truth of things.  He will be missed greatly.

Kenneth is survived by his sister, Mary Rosalia of Fresh Meadows, N.Y, his son Kevin Farrell, daughter Kristine Shmenco both at home, and a grandson Jack Shmenco.

His family received visitors on Oct. 26 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home in Cornwall-on-Hudson.  A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St Thomas of Canterbury Church in Cornwall-on-Hudson with Rev. Simon Gyan Obeng officiating.  Burial with Military Honors followed the Mass at St. Thomas Cemetery in Cornwall.

Timothy Allen Milliken

Died July 27

Timothy Allen Milliken, 56, of Columbia, S.C. and formerly of Cornwall, N.Y., died on July 27. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, at Orange County Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road in Goshen.
