Eugenia M. Brown

January 18, 1919-September 14, 2015

Eugenia M. Brown, 96, passed away on Sept. 14, at Cortland Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Cortland, N.Y. She had resided with her son Robert Brown and wife Jean for the past 11 years.

Eugenia was born in New York City on Jan. 18, 1919 to James and Helen (Gutekunst) Moore. On Aug. 4, 1940 she married the love of her life, Eugene J. Brown. She took great joy in loving and caring for their family. They raised their children in New York City before moving to Cornwall-on-Hudson in 1973. In 2004 Eugenia made her home with son, Robert (Jean) Brown in Almond, N.Y., and later Homer, NY. She enjoyed spending winters with them in Lakeland, Fla.

Eugenia was predeceased by her parents, her husband Eugene (1977), beloved daughter Janet Brown (2012) and granddaughter Kari Brown.

She is survived by her beloved sons: Robert (Jean) Brown of Homer; Denis (Mary) Brown of Montauk, N.Y.; Peter (Robyn) Brown of Lawrenceville, Ga.
Eugenia was the loving grandmother of: Andrew (Kelley) Brown, Wendy (Brett) Caulfield, Jeremy Brown, Denise (Diego) Munera, Christine Brown, Kristie Babcock, Kelli Brown, Sean Brown, Matthew Brown; and great-grandmother of: Amelia Brown, Jack Brown, Cody Caulfield, Daisy Caulfield, Emma Caulfield, and Sadie Caulfield.

Eugenia’s life will be celebrated at a funeral mass at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church in Cornwall-on-Hudson at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 19. Interment will follow in the St. Thomas Cemetery. Arrangements by James F. Lulves Funeral Home.

Grace Beverly (Nielsen) Martin

September 29, 1943-September 25, 2015

Grace Beverly (Nielsen) Martin, age 71, of Hudson, Fla., entered into rest on Sept. 25. She was the beloved wife of the late William J. Nielsen and the late Dennis M. Martin.

Grace was a long time resident of Cornwall, N.Y., where she worked at Cornwall Hospital and volunteered with the Cornwall Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

She is survived by her four children, William, Michael, Shawn and Nicole and her four stepchildren, Lorrie, Dennis, Lisa and William. She was the beloved grandmother of 21 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Family and friends will celebrate her life at the Quigley Brothers Funeral Home, 337 Hudson Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson, on Saturday,  Oct. 17 from 2 to 4 p.m.
