St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital (SLCH) will be joining the Montefiore Health System. The boards of both hospitals have approved the arrangement. While they still need state approval, they don’t anticipate any problems. “There’s nothing anyone could take issue with,” the Montefiore CEO said at a press conference in Newburgh this morning.
Montefiore, the parent in the arrangement, will place three members on the SLCH Board of Trustees. Joan Cusack McGuirk will remain as the SLCH interim CEO.
When asked how the Cornwall campus would be affected, Mrs. McGuirk referred to Cornwall as an integral part of the hospital. “I believe the service in Cornwall will be enhanced,” she said.
