Emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle accident, around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18, on Route 32 between Old State Route 32 and Industry Drive.
Charles Bailey, 32, of Middletown, was traveling southbound on Route 32, in his 1997 Dodge utility truck, when he struck a 2004 Ford Expedition operated by R. Drayton-O’Brien, 37, of New Windsor.
Drayton-O’Brien pulled out from the southbound shoulder and her attempt to make a left turn caused Bailey to strike her vehicle. Bailey continued along the roadway, striking a tree and into the embankment.
Drayton-O’Brien was treated for minor injuries. Bailey was issued a ticket for driving with a suspended license. An officer at the scene maintained a constant flow of traffic, but it took about an hour to clear both vehicles.
