Kristi L. Babcock

Dec. 13, 1982-Aug. 16, 2013

Kristi L. Babcock, of Cornwall, a lifetime area resident, entered into rest on Friday, August 16. She was 30.

Daughter of Michael and Linda (Panella) Babcock, she was born December 13, 1982.
Kristi graduated from Cornwall Central High School. She worked at the Town of New Windsor Recreation Department for the last 12 years. She always had a bright smile, big heart and infectious laugh. Kristi loved the beach, cooking and spending time with her niece and nephew. She is an angel who will continue to shine down on us from above.

Survivors include her parents, Michael and Linda Babcock of Cornwall; her sister, Michele Deloughery and husband Christopher of New Windsor; her grandfather, Rocco Panella; her Aunt Patty Mangan and Kenny Stong of Athens, and Aunt Connie and Uncle Pete Kenworthy of Wallkill; her nephew and niece, Matthew and Emma Deloughery of New Windsor; many cousins; and her beloved dog, Tinker. Kristi was predeceased by her grandmothers, Elizabeth Panella and Joyce Babcock.

The family received visitors on Monday, Aug. 19 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Aug. 20 in Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh, with burial following in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor.

Floyd B. Deans Jr.

January 13, 1948-August 13, 2013

Floyd B. Deans Jr., who was born in Cornwall on Jan. 13, 1948, died peacefully in his sleep in Covington, Ga. on Aug. 13. He was 65. For all who knew him he was a “free spirit” and lived his life that way.

He is survived by his brother Donald Sr. and his wife Deborah, his niece Deborah Hartand and her husband Scott, nephews Bradley and David, aunts and uncles, and many cousins. He was predeceased by his father Floyd Sr., mother Edith, sister Patricia, brother Thomas, and nephew Donald Jr.

Arrangements were under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home of Covington, Ga. There was no funeral service.

For the last 20 years, Albert (Pop) and Michelle Fletcher of Covington helped make Floyd’s life better.

Helen Mingrino

August 15, 2013

Helen Mingrino, of Cornwall, formerly of Franklin Square, L.I., peacefully passed away on Aug.15.  She was a loving wife to both Gerard W. Solner (1963) and  Alfred Mingrino (2006).

She was the mother of Gerard, Steven, Freddie, Kenny (deceased), Kathleen, and David.  The cherished grandmother of Amanda, Nancy, Bryce, Sarah, Sage, Conor, and Aidan, and great-grandmother of Desmond and Lucy.

Cremation was private.  The family received visitors and held a religious service on Tuesday,  Aug. 20  at the Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, in Cornwall-on-Hudson.To send condolences, visit www.quigleybros.com.
