After a year’s pause due to COVID, the Knights of Columbus resurrected their free Thanksgiving Dinner for Senior Citizens. It was held at the former St. Thomas School on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 20.
In our last issue (Oct. 16, 2020), I told you about a busy day on Main Street. A week later the crowd moved east into Cornwall-on-Hudson. The occasion was the Village Wide Yard Sale.
A light mist fell Saturday, but the mood was positive. About 40 volunteers gathered in St. Thomas Cemetery in Cornwall to lay wreaths at the graves of those who served our country in the armed forces.
Last year, a team of Willow Avenue fourth-graders stayed late one day a month to work on a butterfly garden. The kids moved up to the middle school at the end of June, but on Sept. 22, they came back after hearing that their garden was teeming with caterpillars.
