For Gabby Fanning and Seth Goitia, finishing second was as good as winning. They were runners up in the state qualifying meet last weekend. But their times were fast enough to get them into the state championships in North Syracuse on June 10-11.
The state qualifying track and field meet was split over two days. On Thursday, Monroe-Woodbury hosted a half dozen events. There weren’t many spectators, so picture-taking was easy.
They haven’t signed a letter of intent yet. That won’t happen until February. But Chrissy Cannella, Sam Nelbach and Lauren Pinkham have verbally agreed to play for Division I colleges.
