A group of parents and students gathered in the parking lot and walked into the September school board meeting together. When it was time for public comment, they urged the board to reinstate the high school drama club.
The entry is still on my calendar for March 16: “Attend Addams Family rehearsal at 6:30 p.m.” I was due at Cornwall Central High School to write a preview of the Drama Club’s spring musical. But it didn’t happen.
Every fall, Cornwall’s high school drama club produces a show with a small cast. This year’s cast starts small and gets smaller. There are 13 performers in the playbill, but only six of them are
Kianna Batista, Jessica Henry and Michaela Kirwan in a scene from “Sister Act.” The show will be presented at the high school at 7 p.m. on April 12-14 and at 2 p.m. on April 15.
The seats in the high school auditorium will be empty for the performances of “12 Angry Jurors” and “12 Angry Women.” That’s because the audience will be sitting on the stage.
