Each morning for the last 12 years, Cornwall-on-Hudson Elementary School security guard Jim Gillick has helped keep the students and staff safe while going the extra mile to assist parents in getting their children out of cars and on their way into the building to start their day.
Cornwall Central School District third and fourth graders had their mad scientist caps on last week for the annual elementary science expo, at the middle school.
The Patriot Program, put on by the Wallkill Legion Post 1181 Coalition on Patriotism, aims to instill, in the youth of America, the values that made the United States “The land of the free and the home of the brave.”
The Cornwall-on-Hudson students sat on a hill overlooking their new playground. They listened as Rana Liebert thanked contributors. And they clapped really hard when she mentioned their principal.
Third and fourth-graders from Cornwall-on-Hudson, Lee Road and Willow Avenue participated in a Science Expo at the middle school on Jan. 23. It was an evening event, with parents helping the kids set up their exhibits — which had been ready since before Jan. 4 when the original expo was snowed out.
On Sept. 16, six members of the class of 1957, and their spouses, returned to Cornwall-on-Hudson School for the first time since graduation. The building housed Grades 1-12 until after their senior year.
