On the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor recalled the second-wave strike on the Hawaiian naval base.
There were two horse-drawn carriage rides on Main Street on Sunday afternoon. Stores stayed open from 3 to 5, and many of them offered free refreshments. Guests who were hungry could ingest enough to forget about dinner.
The Library’s Veterans Day program received a lot of publicity. Librarians promoted it at story hours and other family events. The commander of Post 353 mentioned the event at the end of the Nov. 11 observance at the triangle.
