Marie E. Collard of Cornwall, NY entered into eternal rest on June 7, 2024. Born January 25, 1950 to Marie and Henry Gauvreau. Marie married Edward Collard in 1969
Marie raised 2 wonderful, talented sons. She enjoyed vacations in Lake George and the Adirondacks, the Jersey Shore and Washington, D.C. with the boys. When Ed and Rob were teenagers, her best memories were of the boys coming home late in the evening and talking in the kitchen about what went on that evening, many times reciting the whole dialog of the movie they had just watched or performing the skits from Saturday Night Live.
Marie was a Parishioner of St. Thomas of Canterbury Church and was an Organist and Choir Director. While Ed and Rob were students at St. Thomas of Canterbury Elementary School, she was “drafted” as Drama Club Director and Accompanist from 1980 – 1982. Then Accompanist from 1992 – 1995 for Marie Fasulo’s Drama Club at the school. She was the St. David’s Army sub-post chapel sub organist as well. Marie and her mother had a ceramic studio for 15 years. She was a Piano Teacher, the Pianist at Café Internationale at Ramada Inn for many years, and the St. Luke’s Hospital Lobby Pianist from 2017.
Marie is survived by her beloved husband: Edward C. Collard at home; her sons: Edward C. Collard, Jr. and his wife Christine of Gardiner, NY and Robert W. Collard and his wife MacKenzie of Walden, NY; and by her grandsons: Edward A. and Michael. In addition to her parents, Marie was predeceased by her brother: Robert Gauvreau.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 22nd at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY. Inurnment will take place privately at a later date at Wallkill Valley Cemetery in Walden, NY.
Memorial Contributions in Marie’s name may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.

Linda Ann Way

Linda Ann Way, a former longtime Cornwall/Mountainville NY resident entered eternal rest on June 10, 2024. She was 87 years old.
She was an active member of the Mountainville United Methodist church where she taught Sunday school for over 30 years. After moving to Virginia Beach in 1991 she continued volunteering at the Foundry United Methodist church.
Linda is survived by two daughters and two sons; Peter Davidson and his wife Laura (Leeds) Davidson, Sheila (Way) Curley and her husband Thomas, Lisa-Marie (Way) Birdsall and David-Kurt Way; Seven grandchildren, Nicole, Timothy, Desiree, Devynn, Jason, Justin and John; and seven great grandchildren, Olivia, Jacob, Abigail, Riley, Wyatt, Finnick and Dante.
She was preceded in death by her mother Estelle S. Brown, her son R. Paul Davidson and her grandson Christopher Davidson.
A Celebration of Life service was held on June 15 at the Foundry United Methodist Church in Virginia. Her final resting place will be with her beloved mother and beloved son at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Mountainville NY. A Graveside memorial will be held on July 20 at 11:30 AM.
