Andrew E. Barton

Andrew E. Barton, of Cornwall, NY passed away unexpectedly on May 5, 2024 at home. He was 34 years old.

The son of Rondy C. Barton of Lynchburg, VA, Andrew was born on December 27, 1989 in Charlottesville, VA.  

Andrew was a Warehouse Stocker for Cardinal Health in Montgomery, NY.

As quoted by one of Andrew’s friends: “You will never meet anyone as genuine and sincerely kind as Andrew. One of those one in a million people that was loved by everyone and loved everyone right back.”

In addition to his mother, Andrew is survived by his grandfather: Robert J. Barton, Sr. at home; his great aunt: Joanne Blersch of Stratford, CT; his aunt: Toni M. Barton of Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY; his uncles: Robert J. Barton, Jr. of Maybrook, NY and Charles E. Barton of Middletown, NY; numerous loving cousins; and too many friends to name.

Memorial Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 18th at Quigley-Sullivan Funeral Home, Inc., 337 Hudson St. Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY.  Cremation at Cedar Hill Crematory, Middle Hope, NY.

Memorial Contributions in Andrew’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

David Normand Redden

Redden, David Normand, of New York City and Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY, beloved husband of Jeannette, proud father of Stephen and Clare, son of Normand Redden of Norwich, NY and Annabel Austin Redden of Christchurch, New Zealand, brother of Nigel Redden and Melanie Redden Whitlock, at home in Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY, (May 11th) of complications from ALS, which he had survived for 9 years. For 42 years he worked at Sotheby’s, the last 16 as a vice chairman; and was the longest serving auctioneer in Sotheby’s history. He organized many of Sotheby’s most famous sales. He also served as chairman of many cultural, educational and environmental organizations, including Scenic Hudson, Black Rock Forest, the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum, The Olana Partnership, the American Trust for the British Library and St. Stephen’s School in Rome. He served as president of the 11 East 73rd Street board. He was a dedicated diarist, and in 2020 he donated his auction papers to the Getty Research Institute.
