Susan Baxter Bryde

January 4, 1942—November 19, 2023

Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY

Susan Baxter Bryde, daughter of the late Lynn and Isabel Baxter, passed away on November 19, 2023 at home surrounded by her husband, Carl and son Donald. 

Susan was born on January 4, 1942 in Watertown, NY. She moved to Saranac Lake, NY in 1945 and attended Saranac Lake High School where she graduated in 1960. She attended Mount Ida college and graduated in 1962. Susan worked in Potsdam in the summer of 1965 where she met her future husband, Carl W Bryde Jr. They married on October 9, 1965 and moved to Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY. 

Susan worked in the Army Football Office at USMA, West Point. She was the secretary of the defensive coaching staff.  She worked for great coaches like Bill Parcells. She was a Co-Director of the St. John’s nursery school. She worked at the village nursery school as a teacher and also the Cornwall library. Susan was known as “Mrs. B” by her students.

She loved to go camping with family and was looking forward to a new season.  Susan is survived by her husband: Carl; sons: Donald and Jonathan and his wife Tracy; her grandchildren: Camdin, Caiden, Victoria and Caisyn; her sisters: Ann White and Carolyn Manhey; and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 13th at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 66 Clinton Street, Cornwall, NY.  Inurnment will follow the Service in the St. John’s Episcopal Church Columbarium.

Daniel A. Hosier

January 13, 1931—January 1, 2024

Mt. Vernon, KY, formerly Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY

Daniel A. Hosier, “Dan,” of Mt. Vernon, KY, and formerly of Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY, died January 1, 2024 at UK Hospital, Lexington, KY. He would be 93 this month.

He was born in Cornwall, NY on January 13, 1931, the son of Alfred and Verna Hosier. He was retired from Halo Branded Solutions, Inc. (an advertising company); but as one of Jehovah’s Witneses, he was active in sharing the Bible’s hope of a paradise earth under God’s Kingdom where mankind wil live in peace and happines.  He also liked working in his garden.

He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Mary Jane;  Larry (and Linda) Hosier of Red Creek, NY; Melany (and Richard) Thomas of Richmond, KY; Paul (and JoAnn) of Dunedin, FL; Daniel M. (and Jennifer) of Mt. Vernon, KY; a brother Henry Hosier (and Anna) of Mexico; Marilyn Kalmanson of Pine Bush, NY; and Ellie Bukovsky of Cornwall, NY.  He also loved his 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service wil be held in the future.
