It brings great sorrow to announce that Ruth Ann Grzybowski passed away on April 26, 2023.
The daughter of the late Richard Waye and Martha Prizzia Waye, Ruth was born in Newburgh, NY, and raised in Cornwall, NY. She attended Cornwall Central High School and BOCES simultaneously. After graduation from both, she began her career at Highland National Bank. It was there that she met the love of her life, Eugene Grzybowski.
Ruth and Eugene were wed on October 6, 1984. Following a storybook honeymoon in Acapulco, Mexico, they briefly lived in Marlboro, NY, and Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY, before settling down in New Windsor, NY. Ruth and Eugene had three children together. The family later relocated to Las Vegas, NV, where she spent the last decades of her life. While there, she continued to raise her children and worked while able.
Diagnosed at a young age with multiple sclerosis, Ruth had to face health problems all of her adult life. Despite this, she was known to all as a kind, loving person. One conversation with Ruth would mean a new friendship was made. Around Ruth, company always felt at home, and close friends always knew they were family.
Ruth was known for her love of the music and movies of the 80s and 90s. She enjoyed hearing the latest news over hot coffee or tea. She was most happy when at large gatherings of family and friends eating, drinking, and laughing late into the night.
