Christian R. Diliberto, of Cornwall, NY entered into eternal rest unexpectedly on October 31, 2022 at his home. He was 20 years old.
The son of Nicholas R. Diliberto and the late Jillian (Cortez) Diliberto, Christian was born on December 10, 2001 in Newburgh, NY.
Christian was a graduate of Cornwall High School class of 2020, where he developed the majority of his longstanding friendships. He was a fun loving happy person, who loved spending time with friends and family. To know him was to love him. He was always willing and eager to lend a helping hand and his enthusiasm for life was contagious to all who knew him. He was a great big brother and cousin and we will miss his casual confidence and laughs. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Christian is survived by his loving father: Nicholas R. Diliberto at home; his sister: Ava Schaffer of Inwood, WV; his paternal grandfather: Raymond J. Diliberto; his maternal grandmother: Lillian Cortez; his devoted girlfriend: Natalie Harris; and his aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his mother, Christian was predeceased by his paternal grandmother: Joanne Pass; and his maternal grandfather: Raymond Cortez.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 6th at Quigley-Sullivan Funeral Home, Inc., 337 Hudson Street Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. A Chapel Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. following the Visitation. Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory, Middle Hope, NY.

Edward “Chick” Elmes

Edward “Chick” Elmes, 68 years old, of Flagler Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2022, in Hospice. The oldest son of the late Mary Elmes, Chick spent his formative years in Yonkers, N.Y. and attended Salesian High School and attended Mercy College.
Chick loved anything where an engine was involved. Hobbies included riding his Harley, Boss Hoss or V-8 Choppers. He enjoyed snowmobiling, boating and loved the old car shows. His favorite pastime was waxing his vehicles. He was very knowledgeable in many areas, but his expertise was automotive.
Prior to Retirement, he worked as a Fleet Manager for Verizon for 25 yrs. And in the past was the proud owner of “Chick’s” Exxon in Newburgh, N.Y. and Storm King Auto Repair in Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y and at one time a member of the Cornwall Yacht Club.
Chick married Barbara in 2016 and moved to Flagler Beach, Florida, just north of Daytona beach where Chick loved the Bike Week Festivities. He enjoyed Biketoberfest, Lake George and Myrtle Beach Bike Weeks. He was hardworking, thoughtful and devoted to his wife Barbara. He was a generous husband, father and friend to many that have become our extended family. He was a loving father to Nichole Steffens (Mike), and Brian and stepfather to Courtney and Brian.
He is also survived by his brothers, Kenneth (Fran) of Hopewell Junction, N.Y., Kevin (Judy) of Orange, Connecticut, and Christopher (Susan) of Putnam Valley, N.Y., his grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. And of course, his dear friends that have become family to us all.
Memorial Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 18th at Quigley-Sullivan Funeral Home, Inc., 337 Hudson Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y.

Marianne Mayer

Mendham, NJ formerly of Cornwall, NY
Marianne Mayer, a former resident of Cornwall, NY entered into eternal rest on October 9, 2022 at St. Clare’s Dover Hospital, Dover, NJ. She was 90 years old.
The daughter of the late Maximillian and Maria Soller, Marianne was born on April 3, 1932 in Hartkirchen, Germany. She moved to the US in 1955 and loved living in Cornwall.
She was an avid reader, quilter, seamstress and baker who loved spending time with family and friends. She will be missed greatly.
Marianne was predeceased by her beloved husband: Master Sergeant Abby S. Mayer in 2014. She is survived by her sons: Abby S. Mayer and his wife Linda of Mendham, NJ and Lyle D. Mayer and his wife Ria of New York City; and by her grandchildren: Daniel and Emily.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 17th at West Point Cemetery, West Point, NY.
