Schmitt’s holding 2nd annual event
WASHINGTONVILLE — Assemblyman Colin Schmitt is proud to announce his 2nd Annual 99th Assembly District Salute to First Responders event to be held on Tuesday, Sept. 14, at 6:30 pm at the auditorium inside the Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center in Chester.
Each Town and Village Board in the 99th Assembly District has the ability to nominate one First Responder that truly stands out in their community and is worthy of this official recognition. All municipalities in the 99th Assembly District have already been sent requests for nominations. Nominees may include active or retired, paid or volunteer, first responders that live, work or serve their community. Individuals nominated may include members from all branches of the first responder community including 911 dispatchers, EMS responders, corrections, police, and firefighters.
Schmitt stated: “Our first responder hero’s always deserve our thanks and full support. In the 99th Assembly District, we do just that. In a time where our law enforcement officers and first responder community face unprecedented disrespect and attacks, I’m proud to announce this event that will honor and celebrate the brave men and women who serve our families, friends, and neighbors. Our annual event will recognize our local heroes’ courage and commitment and I invite residents of the 99th Assembly District to join us Sept. 14 to say thank you to our local heroes.”
