Anthony D. Farina

Cornwall, NY

Anthony “Tony” D. Farina, of Cornwall, NY entered into eternal rest on February 22, 2021 at Montgomery Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Montgomery, NY. He was 95 years old.

The son of the late Giuseppe Farina and Antoinetta (DiPreta) Farina, Tony was born on May 17, 1925 in Manhattan, NY.  

Tony was a retired Firefighter with Engine 95 in the Bronx, NY. He honorably and proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps from 1943 to 1946 during WWII.

Tony is survived by his loving wife: Hilda E. (Ohliger) Farina; his sons: Anthony “Tony” J. Farina (Melissa) of Cornwall, NY, Karl Farina (Barbara Frasier) and Joseph Farina (Debbie); 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; his sister: Josephine (Pippy) Dicostanzo; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24th at Quigley-Sullivan Funeral Home, Inc., 337 Hudson Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY. Due to the continued public health concerns of covid-19, please know that there is an occupancy limitation which may cause a wait time. Facial coverings must be worn in the funeral home at all times.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 26th at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY. Interment with Military Honors will follow the Mass at Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Goshen, NY.

Ellinora J. LaFontaine

April 16, 1954—February 14, 2021

Campbell Hall, NY formerly of Cornwall, NY

Ellinora J. LaFontaine, a former longtime resident of Cornwall, NY entered into eternal rest on February 14, 2021 at Campbell Hall Rehabilitation Center in Campbell Hall, NY. She was 66 years old.

The daughter of the late Kenneth LaFontaine and Carol Jean (Wood) LaFontaine, Ellinora was born on April 16, 1954 in Peekskill, NY. 

Ellinora held many jobs in her life, but she especially enjoyed waitressing at Perkins in New Windsor, NY.

Ellie (as most people know her) was full of life and a hard-working mom. She loved singing and dancing to music. She loved sports, especially the Yankees and Notre Dame Football and shared that special bond with her boys. Her family was especially important to her. She will be missed greatly.
Ellinora is survived by her sons: Jimmy-Joe Roberts and Edward G. Stanford, IV; and her grandchildren: Noah, Lucas, Morgan and Taylor.

Due to the public health concerns of the Corona Virus (Covid-19), memorial services for Ellinora will be private. On behalf of the family, thank you for your understanding and support during this difficult time. The family will be holding a private celebration at a later date.
