Goldie Christenson

March 15, 1926—November 18, 2020

Cornwall-on-Hudson

Goldie, a lifelong resident of Cornwall-on-Hudson, passed away on Nov. 18 with her family by her side. She was 94.

Goldie was a loving and devoted wife to Chris for 70 years, a great mom to her children Nelson, Linda and Judy and a perfect Grammy to her grandchildren, Jenny, Caitie, Brandy, Jeremy and Chapin. While she no-longer babysat, she so much enjoyed seeing her great grandson William.
Goldie was a life-long homemaker and her children were always her first priority.

She was a fierce defender of them at all times. She became a “mom” at an early age helping her parents raise her eight younger siblings.

She was a wonderful daughter to Alfred Hosier, working in his store when it became too much for him, butchering meat, delivering groceries and more. She helped care for her mom Verna Hosier into her mid-nineties. She was a great friend and neighbor always willing to lend a hand or an ear to sit and hear a life story.

She was perfectly “pissed” over the shutdown and isolation of COVID-19, taking away the one important thing in her life, seeing her family. Goldie will be so missed by all who knew and loved her for her love, guidance and wisdom.

Goldie is survived by her brothers Daniel and Henry Hosier and sisters Marilyn Kalmansen and Eleanor Bukowsky, and by her three children, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

We hope to gather in the spring to celebrate this beautiful life with family and friends.

Robert E. Rosenberger

July 10, 1937— December 12, 2020

Cornwall-on-Hudson

Robert E. Rosenberger, age 83, peacefully entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at his home in Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY on December 12, 2020 after a brief battle with cancer.

Bob was born on July 10, 1937, in Lansdale, PA to Edwin S. and Marion (Wenhold) Rosenberger Weber of Lansdale, PA. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was assigned to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY. There he worked in the graphic arts department and studied and developed his passion for the fine arts. During his time at West Point, he attended Cornwall Baptist Church where he met and married the love of his life, Dorothy L. Gustafson and together they raised their daughter and twin sons in Cornwall-on-Hudson. After receiving an honorable discharge from the Army, Bob continued to work as a civilian at the United States Military Academy until his retirement in 1996. Perhaps one of his greatest accomplishments while working at West Point was being commissioned by the Class of 1922 to build a model of West Point to be dedicated to the Academy. This model would be housed in the Visitor’s Center for many years to serve as a guide and locator for visitors to the academy. Bob also had the privilege of creating recruitment videos for the academy and even had the opportunity to design the ticket artwork for the 1979 Army-Navy football game.

In addition to his love for his family, Bob’s greatest love was for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and nothing brought him more passion or joy than serving the Lord and bearing witness to His name. For over 50 years, Bob faithfully served the Lord through many ministries at Cornwall Baptist Church, including as Deacon Chairman, Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Sunday School Superintendent, Choir Director, manager of Cornwall Baptist Church Cemetery and nursing home ministries. Bob had a passion for fishing, gardening, reading and art and was also a member of the North East Watercolor Society.

Bob is survived by his daughter Lorraine and husband Christopher Tantillo and their daughter Elisabeth of Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY; his son Robert of Marlboro, NY and his sons Brandon and Tyler; son Larry and his wife Nancy of Howell, NJ and their children Rachel, Matthew and Luke; also beloved grandfather to Scott “Zento” Slinger, Beacon, NY; Sisters Lucille Tyson and husband Ron, of Greenville, South Carolina and Christine Littleton of North Wales, PA; Sister-in-law Karen Gustafson; and many nieces and nephews and dear friends. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of nearly 49 years, Dorothy, daughter-in-law Lisa, and brothers-in-law Joe Littleton and Donald Gustafson.

Visitation will take place 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2020 to be followed by a Funeral Service, 12 noon at Cornwall Baptist Church 213 Main Street, Cornwall, NY 12518 with Pastor Rev. Stephen J. Racite officiating. Burial will follow at the Cornwall Baptist Cemetery.

Due to the continued public health concerns, facial covering must be worn at all times, and social distancing must be practiced.
