Albert B. Christoff Jr.

MSGT (Ret) Albert Bernard Christoff Jr. of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on January 26, 2020 in Las Vegas. He was 68.
Albert was born in Cornwall to Albert Bernard Christoff Sr. and Getrude Irene Rhinefield.
After high school, Albert worked as an auto mechanic in Highland Falls, before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force in April 1972. During his 20-year career, Albert served in Thailand, Arizona, and Nevada, where he retired in November 1992. He was selected to the elite 4477th Test and Evaluation Squadron (Red Eagles) at the Air Force Test Range in Tonopah, Nevada. Albert spent most of his career as a tactical aircraft maintenance technician assigned to A-10 Warthog and F4 Phantom squadrons. He received the Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 5 oak leaf clusters, Outstanding Unit Award with 2 oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal with 1 bronze service star, and the Air Force Longevity Service Award with 4 oak leaf clusters.
After retiring, he worked as a long and short haul truck driver for a number of years. He enjoyed NASCAR, watching old reruns and movies, spending time with his grandchildren.
Albert is survived by wife Kathie, three childen and three grandchildren. He was a loving and proud father of his daughter Angela, sons Albert III, and Adam, grandfather to Nicholas, Giana, and Bella. He is survived by sisters – Patricia Currey and husband Robert, Joan Whorley and husband James, Mary Kay Weyer and husband Vincent; brothers – Robert and wife Linda, Michael and wife Linda, James and wife Annie, and John and wife Maureen; brother-in-law James Elliott; and sister-in-law Sandie Christoff. Albert also had many nephews, nieces, and cousins, and a very special aunt, Irene O’Dell.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Virginia Elliott and brother Richard.
Family and friends will celebrate his life this summer.
