This year’s Orange-Ulster BOCES computer networking team failed to reach the national semi-finals in the CyberPatriot National Youth Cyber Defense Competition. Competing in the state finals, the team fell short by two points.

Chess lessons offered at Cornwall Public Library

Joshua Davenport learned to play chess, at the age of six, after watching his father and older brother play. Although he’s a member of the United States Chess Federation, he never played in a sanctioned game, but Davenport is taking the skills he’s accrued over the years and passing them on to those who want to learn how to play.

Judge Navarra reaches a milestone on the bench

Frank Navarra didn’t expect to be a judge at the start of his career. (Does anyone?) He was a City of Newburgh policeman, who moved up the ladder quickly when a third of his colleagues were indicted. He was a deputy commissioner at 26, and later gave up that title to become a captain.
