Richard (“Rich”) J. Bittles, Jr.

Richard “Rich” J. Bittles, Jr., of New Windsor, entered into eternal rest on Aug. 15 at Vassar Bros. Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. He was 53.
The son of Richard J. Bittles, Sr. and Suzanne M. (Fracasse) Bittles, Rich was born on Sept. 7, 1964 in Manhattan.
Rich was a member of Local 3 IBEW and a retired firefighter with FDNY Ladder 50 in the Bronx.
“Throughout Rich’s life,” his family said, “he was always there to help the kids with their sports.
Rich was truly a selfless person, always putting others before himself. He loved to ride his motorcycle, lay on the beach, play golf, and he loved his children and grandchildren more than anything. Oh and we can’t forget those lotto numbers, if he knew you he definitely played your birthday at some point. Life’s a beach” and he will be greatly missed.”
In addition to his parents, Rich is survived by his sons: Robert J. Bittles and his wife Olivia and Richard J. Bittles, III; and his daughter: Courtney L. Bittles and her fiancée’ Jeremy; his grandchildren: Charlotte and Maddox; his brother: James A. Bittles and his wife Sylvia; their children James, Christopher, and Amanda; and his sister: Jennifer A. (Bittles) Doyle and her husband Kevin and their children Ryan and Brendan; the mother of his children, Kathleen Bittles; and his loving companion Rosemary Souchu Corrado.
Visitation was held on Aug. 19 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home in Cornwall-on-Hudson. A Mass of Christian Burial was held. on Aug. 20 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church in Cornwall-on-Hudson and was followed by cremation at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.

Robert Camporeale
December 6, 1954- August 14, 2018
Newburgh
Robert “Bob” Camporeale, the son of Dagmar Vacek Camporeale and Nick Camporeale, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 14 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Newburgh, after a long illness.
Born Dec. 6, 1954, he graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in Greely, Co. in 1977. Bob worked in the communications business, first in radio then cable. His dream of one day owning and operating his own restaurant became a reality for him in 1999 when he opened Dana’s Uptown Grill, in Newburgh.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Dana who was also his best friend; his parents Nick and Dagmar; his uncles Frank Camporeale of Cornwall and Michael (Roxanne) of Massassachutts; his Aunt Maria Newell (Frank) of Virginia; and several neices and nephews. Bob had many friends whom he cherished and his ex-wife Anne Sullivan Camporeale who was always a good friend to Bob. Bob also leaves behind his beloved little Chihuahuas Nala and Charlie.
Memorial was held on Friday, Aug. 17 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Bob’s name to the Town of Newburgh Animal Center, or a charity of your choice.
Ralph W. Friedel, Jr.
August 25, 1934-August 13, 2018
Cornwall-on-Hudson
Ralph W. Friedel, Jr. of Cornwall-on-Hudson passed away peacefully on Monday, Aug. 13.
He was born on Aug. 25, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Ralph W. and Annette Gertson Friedel.
After a career as a professional photographer in Ohio, Ralph attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park and enjoyed a second career as a chef. Graced with a powerful and melodic tenor voice, he relished many opportunities to perform in amateur theatre productions as a young man. His musical talent extended to playing the piano and the bass.
Ralph is survived by his loving partner of thirty-five years, Ann R. Garti; his adored daughters, Pamela Smith and Julie Hocevar; his grandchildren James and Julie; great grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, Frank and Olivia; his sister Kay Clemens (William) and several Clemens and Friedel nephews. He was predeceased by his brother James Friedel and sister-in-law Mary Friedel. Ralph is further survived by Michael, Thomas, Brittany, Caroline and Griffin Garti who called him Grandpa.
At Ralph’s request, there will be no services.

Marie E. Guerra
January 21, 1930 – August 10, 2018
Montrose
Marie E. Guerra passed away Friday, Aug. 10 at the NYS Veteran’s Home in Montrose. She was 88.
Daughter of the late Harold and Frances Charlmers, she was born Jan. 21, 1930 in the Bronx. Marie was the widow of Godfrey Guerra. She was a retired secretary with Lakeland Central Schools of Shrub Oak, a member of Trinity Episcopal Church of Bethlehem, Penn., and a longtime volunteer at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem.
Survivors include her loving children: Kim Redmond and husband Mark of Rome, Tex., Jeff Guerra and wife Rieki of Bend, Ore., and Mark Guerra and wife Theresa of Highland Falls. Marie is also survived by her two sisters, Nancy Chase of Riverdale and Jean Goodall of Toms River, NJ; seven grandchildren – Megan, Danny, Caitlin, Sarah, Brian, Colleen and Asuka; and five great-grandchildren – Brennan, Maggie, Ellie, Logan and Riley.
Marie was predeceased by her brother George Charlmers.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 23 at William F. Hogan Funeral Home, 135 Main St., Highland Falls.
Visitation will also be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 27 at Pearson Funeral Home, 1901 Linden Street, Bethlehem, Penn. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Trinity Episcopal Church, 44 E. Market Street, Bethlehem, Penn. Interment will follow in Niskey Hill Cemetery in Bethlehem, Penn.
