Vickie Murray (nee. Tagliaferro) a long time resident of Cornwall, born on November 16, 1955 entered into eternal rest surrounded by her family after a short battle with cancer on July 12 . She is predeceased by her devoted parents Louis (2000) and Lina (2016) Tagliaferro.
Born in the Bronx, she moved to Nanuet with her family, where she was a faithful sister to Gary and his wife Suzanne, of Cornwall, and Catherine and Pierce Redmond of Bardonia. Brothers and sisters in law: Kevin and Gwen Murray of Murrells Inlet, S.C, Ginny and Artie Econom. of Pine Bush, Dale McKenna of Suffern, and Kathy Murray of West Nyack.
In 1970 Vickie met her loving husband of over 42 years, Thomas Murray. In 1986 the Murrays moved to New Windsor and raised four children, Loren Martelli (Francesco) of Cornwall-on-Hudson, Lindsay Murray of New Windsor, Louis and his wife Bianca Murray of Cold Spring, and Leigha and her husband Ryan Wallace of Fishkill. Together, in their Cornwall home, Vickie and Tommy created a strong bond with their eight and a half grandchildren: Angelina, Bianca, Louis, Dylan, Vivi, Thomas, Scarlett, Dean and Leigha’s soon to be born daughter.
Vickie was a dedicated educator who touched the lives of all her students and co-workers at Newburgh Enlarged City School District, Washingtonville High School and Orange County Community College.
Visitation was held on July 15 and 16 at Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, in Cornwall-on-Hudson. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on July 17 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church in Cornwall-on-Hudson. Interment followed the Mass at Cold Spring Cemetery.
Vickie asked that donations be made to either St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Vickie Murray Memorial Scholarship Foundation, 215 Main Street, Cold Spring, NY 10956.
Lauren Mary Scandrett

Mrs. Lauren Mary Scandrett, of Hohenwald, Tenn., formerly of Cornwall, passed away on Sunday July 8 at the Lewis County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 49 years old.
Survivors include her father Alexander Scandrett of Hohenwald, mother Patricia Scandrett of Hohenwald, brother Alexander Scandrett, Jr. of Middletown, sisters Elizabeth Scandrett of Hohenwald, Jennifer Das of Paris, N.Y., Patricia (Steven) Maniscalco of Cobleskill, N.Y. and Deborah Scandrett of Virginia and several nieces and nephews. Her family received visitors on July 13 at the McDonald Funeral Home Chapel. Services were held on Saturday in the chapel, and were followed by burial in the Lewis County Memorial Gardens in Hohenwald.
